I think we've established that we're tempermentally similar when it comes to these things <g>. And far from alone, as well. The type of outlines I've tended to write that haven't hit me between the eyes and stopped me dead for six weeks were the ones in which I detailed background information about the world, the politics, the players, and the motivations of the various people who are on the wrong side. To which I generally add, "and the protagonists have to come up with a way to stop them."
Not horribly specific, but it works for me, and when I'm dealing with an editor who's well aware of my work habits and the things that cause me to utterly freeze, we're good to go.
