*blink* Had to go check your user info to see if you mean (Royal) Assassin's (Apprentice, Quest) by Robin Hobb. Nope, okay. Fangirl reined in.
I do think that a rich language voice can work for shorts, but it is rare. Because it is hard to do *well* in a short.
