I think book club sounds cool. I've sold five novels, and I've never had book club, not on SF or fantasy, and I never had overseas, although Chechen inquired about the SF--they wanted to know when I was going to finish the two separate SF series I'd started (illustrating they'd read them, since they take place in two different time lines.) I had to explain that since no one was paying me to write them, and I had a contract for something else, and I needed to eat, another book wouldn't be ready for a while. If they wanted to scrape money together to pay for another novel, I would oblige.
They did not respond, of course--
FWIW, the agents got foreign rights both times, but nothing ever happened.
