The best I can say about Rice's response is that she didn't say she could kick anyone's ass. Other than that, she hit every point of the Letter From Disgruntled Author template, down to "the lurkers support me in email."
I can't find it in my heart to sympathize with anyone who claims that no editor may offer her critiques because every word she turns in is perfect, in a letter which neglects to provide paragraph breaks.
