Excerpted email from Sheila Gilbert, my long-suffering DAW editor, "I have slotted HOUSE WAR in for March 2008". I will leave out the bit in which she reminds me that the book still needs a title.

But I cannot believe it's already January 20th. I've been hopefully stuck at around the 15th for a few days.

HOORAY!!!

I would offer a title but without any idea of what's in it that's rather hard. :-)

Congrats! I'd help with the title, but me just spitting out random possiblities without having read the book will probably not result in anything good. *grin*

I'm currently waiting to hear about a release date for my next book. The front of Cracked Throne stated the third book would be out in 2007. I've handed it in already, but . . .

Not, um 'House War'?

No, I'm not being (overly) facetious - or is House War the overtitle and you need separate volume titles?

More than a whole year to go! Argh! At least I can practice patience for a while longer.

Hey! Ive been a fan of your books since about 7th grade (about to graduate college), when I randomly picked up the sun sword, and I'm so happy that you're continuing the narrative with Jewel! Maybe you don't want to talk about this, but will Kiriel's story be continued too? Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself now that I've friended you, im looking to write a fantasy novel myself "one of these days" (maybe after i graduate) loosely based on some ancient civs. Ill be looking forward to House War!

I'm not so good with specific spoilers, but this is general enough to answer: Yes, but not in HOUSE WAR. Kiriel, Kallandras, Evayne were characters that I knew of and planned for when I started writing Hunter's Oath, although Kiriel herself didn't show up until Broken Crown; two other characters exist in this limbo, although one of them is Cynthia's son. Kiriel's story continues after the conclusion of the House War books, in what I think of as the End of Days arc.
