From what I understand, they duplicate (to an extent) those organizations for 2 reasons:
1) More options for fighting a legal battle and/or needing mecial funding is a GOOD thing for writers 2) They have a specific SF/F bent for the greifcom [contracts/predator agents] and can/will handle smaller claims than the larger organizations.
