I think this is the point in many ways. OK, so used doesn't help my sales figures, but I want people to read and care. There's a basic economic issue, too. I want people who can't afford to buy new books to have access to books. This is also why I love libraries - I must disclose that I am a school librarian. And I could go on a huge rant about how slashing library budgets hurts us all: readers, writers, the culture in general.
