Because I've been getting email about the second of the BenBella Sundered books (which had gone out of print), I (finally, and I am very sorry for being so absent-minded) remembered to ask Glen Yeffeth of BenBella if there was going to be a reprint of Children of the Blood, and the relevant part of his reply is:

We have reprinted Children of the Blood so it's now available. It hasn't hit
amazon yet but should soon or people can order it from us.

So hopefully there will be no more 100.00 used copies of that book as the only option on amazon.

mmm I just got the copies of children of the blood and chains of darkness, chains of light from ben bella yesterday. I've almost finished children of the blood... BUT... I was extremely disappointed with their shipping department-- they basically just threw those 2 books in a padded envelope in which they banged about during shipping and my copies are all bent up!!! So sad. So I've emailed Benbella about my order and hopefully the shipping department will be a little bit more careful when fulfilling orders. Will post an update when I hear back.

PS each copy of the book is currently about $12 each. You can order at benbellabooks.com.

Michelle, have you thought about becoming an affiliate so we can order through you and you can get credit???

~sigh~

I am currently swearing at Wordpress. Which means I am not, in fact, getting anything remotely useful done there (at the moment, Wordpress and line breaks are not friends, and I cannot get Wordpress to do simple things like, say, leave images where I in theory put them in the WYSIWYG editor. I had hoped to kind of break down the bibliography by novels, but after 3 hours of no luck last night, consider myself blessed to still have a working computer.

Because, you know, the urge to throw it across the room when I'm still on the same sentence after 3 hours of zero progress, is a little intense.

The Wordpress visual editor kind of sucks. Well. Not really kind of. I usually don't use the visual editor. The raw HTML editor works best. And is as friendly as pickles and ice cream.

I am sort of toying with the idea of writing up an HTML for blogs tutorial for folks who aren't geeks. Mostly it would be little recipes like "How do I get the damn image to line up nicely with the text on the left, with a caption beneath it." Which even frustrates me, though these days I do it all the time.

And heck, it would be nice for my Wednesday blog post, which needs some inspiration that my flu-sick mind is too ill to give it right now.

Let me know if there's anything in particular you would like to see.

What I am trying to do -- the only thing I'm trying to do -- is to put up little thumbnails of my covers, and then text & linkage. I think I have to define the thumbnail as an object, and get the test to wrap around the object.

I am essentially being lazy. I'm getting a lot of -writing- done, which is good, and not the lazy part. The -lazy- part is the part where I do not sit down and learn the html I need, because I don't need a lot of it =/.

But if you have some sort of "quick html for author dummies" post that would let me put in a thumbnail of a book, and then a bunch of text (with links, but I know how to get those), that would sooooooo helpful.

Here ya go: HTML for Dummies, Part 1: Visual vs HTML, and Image Aligning.

Um. I used The Hidden City quite a bit, along with the text from the book description over at Amazon. Hope you don't mind. Three times, in fact. It seemed a good example.

*wonders if she can afford getting sucked into another series, because she is sorely, sorely tempted....*
