Date: 2009-07-20 07:44 pm (UTC)I'm not exactly certain yet. I think I have an hour, but as you know, I tend to babble a bit at the -beginning- of the hour in a non-reading sort of way. What I want to read is actually part of the middle section of City of Night. But...it's in the middle. The beginning is too long.
I'd read the first chapter of Cast in Chaos, because that's what I'm working on now -- but no one will have read Silence at that point, so I'd have to worry about spoilers (and there are a couple of big ones).
So...
Yes! Fretting time! *wry g*

Date: 2009-07-20 06:54 am (UTC)I pretty much work with words; how people prefer to read them, if they do want to read them, is almost -- but not quite -- beside the point, to me. That said, my short answer to the panel question is 'No'. It's my strong suspicion that the people who are loving the kindle are already diehard readers; the kindle makes it possible to carry back-breaking loads of books in a way that doesn't. Break the back, I mean.
Although it's one of the questions I would ask at the panel: How many of you weren't already voracious readers?
