I've been absent. My internet service provider is trying to give me an ulcer. My email has been done via an ancient dial-up, and I'm behind, oh, about a week, which in LJ terms is almost forever.

They're replacing wires and other junk now, and at the moment, we're up. So I'm sneaking in to tell you all that I'm working on the round-up of the post-contract stuff now, and I hope to post it here in the next little while <crossing fingers>.

In other news: HOUSE WAR will be 2 books (everyone who reads me, try to look surprised), and the second Luna novel is being fun. Fun is good.

Aren't you lucky! EVERY short story I write wants to be a novel, or so my critters tell me. They aren't usually too happy when I tell them I have more than enough novels planned (16 in one world setting, 3 in another, and a possible series of at least 3 or 4 in yet another) so what's I've written for the short is it.

Apparently I still have to get that whole "definite ending" thing down for short stories. :P

I was wondering where you were at, Michelle. I missed you! Btw, finally picked up your first novel (and, bad me, the name is escaping me for some reason - probably because I'm working on Quest for Ehlarayn right now) and i plan to read it soon, but I also just got birthday books from a friend and started reading the Weetzie Bat omnibus. Anyway, welcome back. I'll keep my fingers crossed your connection stabilizes again. ;)

My problem used to be that none of my stories wanted to be novels--three to five thousand words used to be my favorite length, and I still like writing at same.

But not all stories fit into that length comfortably, any more than all fit a novel comfortably.
